Private Treetop Retreat with Lanai Walk to town

This is a garage apartment in Gulfport Florida. If you don’t know Gulfport, it’s grown into kind of a funky artist community. But the area where this apartment is located still has the old working class vibe that I remember. Shops and restaurants are not a short walk away. You’ll probably want to drive.The space is very cute and cozy, and privacy is decent. It has lots of light during the day. There is no central air-conditioning, so you have to deal with the noise from two wall units. I found that the wall unit in the living room was adequate to cool the entire space at night, so I could turn off the wall unit next to the bed. The bathroom is very very small. Wiring is a little haphazard, but I think the owner made the best of it. Finding the back entrance could be a little tricky, and there is only space for one car. I stayed by myself and think it would be pretty crowded for four people. I liked it overall. I just don’t think it’s worth 200 a night.

The place is super cute! The bed is very comfortable and the lanai is awesome. It’s a 10ish minute walk to get downtown which isn’t terrible. If you’re not feeling like walking, a golf cart is available to rent which we did not use but was nice to know we could if we needed to. It’s mentioned in the listing that the bathroom is small. I am not a large person and I had to turn sideways to even get into the bathroom. Something to keep in mind when booking. We had some outlet issues while there that I let Lauren know about and she offered to have an electrician come right away. It wasn’t a big enough inconvenience for us to have someone come out right away but I was appreciative of her offer. She was also very accommodating when I let her know our flight was late afternoon and asked if we could leave luggage which was no problem.

Great location! The apartment was beautifully decorated, well lit, and very clean. The option to rent a golf cart was a nice touch, and the process was quick and easy. Lauren was kind, responsive, and very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Fun little property for a weekend getaway!
